Was it “legal”?

A lot of controversy surrounds last night’s fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Vicious Victor Ortiz.  It started with the obvious headbutt from Ortiz, then Ortiz coming back to him and giving him a hug and “kiss”.  Then Mayweather walks towards the center of the ring, touches gloves with Ortiz and then finishes business.  No bell had rung to end the round and the veteran referee never told them to separate after they walked away from the corner.  As a matter of fact, if you watch the video, the referee says, “Let’s go” and then brings his hands together and that is when Mayweather goes in for the kill.

“I took the break by the referee and I obeyed exactly as I was told,” Ortiz said. “And then, boom, he blindsided me.”- Victor Ortiz after the Mayweather fight.  ” Time was in, the fighter needed to keep his guard up. Mayweather did nothing illegal.” – Comments from Cortez the referee that called the fight.

You can like or dislike Mayweather, like or dislike Ortiz, but in the end if the referee says nothing was illegal, then you really have no case.

What do you think?  All I ask is that you refrain from using vulgar language – other than that, consider the bell rung and gloves tapped!

My Opinion

Have you ever been somewhere at a business establishment and thought to yourself, “I sure wish they would ask me my opinion”.  I certainly have.  I have, on a number of occasions thought of countless ways that they could do business better.

For instance, in one chain department store they cram the racks so full of stuff you can’t get your fingers in between the hangers to find your size.  And, unless you are a size 0, you can hardly walk in between each rack to get to the next one.  Ok, so I get it.  You want to show us that you have a bunch of stuff.  I would much rather see less and feel more comfortable.

I recently also heard of another department store that turns their air conditioning off at 10pm and doesn’t turn it on again until 10am.  Really? This is your way of conserving electricity?  I dare say that I wouldn’t go in there and sweat my brains off to purchase anything, much less deal with the obviously cranky sales people having to stay there all day in the heat.

So, here I am posting my opinions about things.  I will continue to do so as cases arise.  Let me know your opinion.
